Uniting health workers to speak out
Welcome to Health Workers Speak Out, a platform dedicated to health advocacy in response to policy changes of the Trump administration in Washington.
We connect health workers across Denver Metro Region and Colorado, providing a space to learn about and engage in events that permit health workers to show up, demonstrate and resist unscientific and ill-formed policies that hurt our communities, eliminate crucial research and diminish quality care for all.
Trump Administration policies and anticipated cost to Coloradans:
- 150,000 Coloradans will lose health insurance as a result of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” (KFF, How Will the 2025 Reconciliation Law Affect the Uninsured Rate in Each State? | KFF)
- Health insurance costs will double for 225,000 Coloradans in 2026 (Congressional Inaction Leads to An Average Doubling of Health Insurance Costs for 225,000 Hardworking Coloradans | DORA - Division of Insurance)
- 10 of 43 rural hospitals in Colorado are at risk of closing (Rural_Hospitals_at_Risk_of_Closing.pdf)

Our mission
Health Workers Speak Out highlights opposition of all types of Colorado health workers to dangerous changes to the US health system.
Our mission is to inform, unify, and mobilize health workers, to ensure our perspectives are heard.
A community-driven initiative, we are committed to fostering a supportive environment for advocacy and resistance to unfounded policy decisions, while supporting voting rights and electoral leadership to correct these horribly misinformed policies.
