United for a healthier future
Welcome to Health Workers Speak Out, (also known as the White Coat and Scrubs Brigade).
We are a collective of dedicated Colorado health workers, raising our voices against dangerous changes impacting the US health system. Our mission is to advocate for policies that serve our communities, protect opportunities to provide rationale, science-based care to individuals and populations.
We highlight our collective opposition to dangerous changes in the US health system, including:
- limited access to care,
- erosion of public health,
- disregard for best science and practices,
- losses to health workforce and funding,
- erosion of health rights (access, privacy, free speech, reproductive health),
- threats to democracy and rule of law, and
- environmental threats to health.
Complementing existing policy and member advocacy organizations, we seek to mobilize health workers to gain higher visibility through letters, petitions, demonstrations, deep-canvassing, media events and social media in cooperation with existing groups.

Our recent presence
Scrubs and white coats were highly visible on the Highland I-25 overpass Saturday (1/31/26) (photo to left). Thousands of cars & trucks were honking with us! Massive protests, across the country, have moved both Congress and the administration to retreat slightly on ICE aggression.

Goals for 2026
- ensure swing district voters (especially CD-8) know how the administration and Congress are degrading our health system; advocate for voting and electoral leadership
- increase visibility of health workers and health issues in protests,
- increase our membership, our organizational skills and our readiness

Making our voices heard
Health Workers Speak Out exists to highlight and oppose critical issues affecting US healthcare. We stand against limited access to care, the erosion of public health, and the disregard for best science and practices. We're fighting against losses to the health workforce and funding, and the erosion of fundamental health rights, including access, privacy, free speech, and reproductive health.
Our concerns also extend to threats to democracy, the rule of law, and environmental dangers that impact health. Using letters, petitions, demonstrations, deep-canvassing, engaging media events social media, we cooperate with other health advocacy groups across Colorado to amplify our message.
